Why leave a gift in your will?

Whether it’s large or small, your gift creates change that matters. If you share our vision of educated girls, free from sex trafficking, shaping and leading their communities and country, then leaving a gift in your Will to Free To Shine is a way to build a world where multiple generations of girls can unlock their potential - now and in years to come.

After recently updating my will to include a gift to Free To Shine, my mind is at peace knowing that my passion for educating girls will continue after my passing. My loved ones are getting their share first, but Free To Shine will receive the rest of my estate to continue their essential work.

Why leave a gift in your will to free to shine?

Who you leave to in your Will is a deeply personal decision. It’s a way to express what you believe in, and an opportunity to engage with the world after you’re gone. As you know, the girls and families we work with battle life’s difficulties and challenges without access to sufficient resources. If you are considering leaving a gift in your Will to Free To Shine I hope you’ll find this guide useful. You have our commitment that your gift will be respected and used well, to prevent school-aged girls being trafficked into the commercial sex industry. Leaving a legacy of this kind is a way to ensure that your values, beliefs and commitment to protect girls from sex trafficking will carry on into the future.

Our promise to you

Thank you for your commitment to creating a better world for girls and women. If you make the decision to include a gift to Free To Shine in your Will, we will honour this act of trust with this commitment:

  • We will use your gift wisely and cost effectively to ensure long lasting impact.
  • We will keep your family updated – should you wish – on our work and how your gift is helping create a safer and more equitable world.
  • We will respect your privacy and decision to leave a gift in your Will. Whilst we’d love to know so that we can plan ahead and acknowledge you for your generosity, should you wish to remain anonymous that will absolutely be respected.
  • We will respect that leaving a legacy is your decision and yours alone. We understand the decision is a personal one and you can choose to change your mind at any time.
  • We will treat your gift with sensitivity and respect.

How will Free To Shine use my gift?

When a bequest is received, some of the funds are expended straight away, having an immediate impact on girls, their families and community.

A percentage of your bequest will be invested in a fund that is specifically set up to maintain its capital value. This helps us generate income annually, which is critical in making sure our programs are secure and sustainable over the long term.

Importantly, through this strategy, your gift creates an impact for generations to come.

Without your loyal support, we couldn’t do what we do.
